Frederic Wiegold, 61, an OPC Foundation board member and a senior editor of the monthly magazine Bloomberg Markets, died July 19 after being stricken in his New York office with a brain aneurysm and being taken by ambulance to a hospital.

Weigold joined Bloomberg News in 2002 as an editor-at-large and served five and a half years as New York bureau chief. Before joining Bloomberg, he worked for 18 years at The Wall Street Journal, where he was a founding editor of the Money & Investing section and a contributing editor of Smart Money magazine.

Previously he was a vice president of J.P. Morgan & Co.; managing editor of World Business Weekly, a magazine published by the Financial Times; a reporter at the daily American Banker; and a news writer at WFLD-TV, Chicago. Wiegold edited The Wall Street Journal Lifetime Guide to Money [New York: Hyyperion, 1997].
