Hamill Graduates From High School

NEW YORK: Pete Hamill has written 10 novels, finished an 11th, written a memoir and four other non-fiction books plus numerous magazine articles, covered several wars and served as editor of the New York Post and the Daily News of New York. And on this June 26, two days after his 75th birthday, he graduated from high school.

Hamilll dropped out of Regis High School in New York City when he was a 16-year-old sophomore to work in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. And now 59 years later, the high school has awarded him an honorary diploma. Pete’s wife, freelance journalist Fukiko Aoki Hamill, is an OPC member.
